US Brig NIAGARA at the Centennial of the Battle of Lake Erie, Put-in-Bay, Ohio, 1913. The NIAGARA, commanded by Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry, led the US to victory over the British during the September 10, 1813 naval Battle of Lake Erie. In 1913 the sunken remains of Niagara were raised from her grave at the bottom of Misery Bay, reconstructed, and towed to Put-In-Bay for the 100th anniversary of the battle.
