Description -  Capt. A.H. Rostron and other officers of "Carpathia". Twelve sailors posed, standing, full-length, on deck of ship, with trophy.

RMS Carpathia became famous for rescuing survivors of rival White Star Line's RMS Titanic after the latter struck an iceberg and sank with a loss of between 1,490 and 1,635 lives in the North Atlantic Ocean. Carpathia navigated the ice fields to arrive two hours after Titanic had sunk, and the crew rescued 705 survivors from the ship's lifeboats.
