Title -  Confederate Spy Belle Boyd

 

Description -  Isabella Marie Boyd (May 9, 1844 - June 11, 1900).  Known as Belle Boyd or Cleopatra of the Secession, she was a Confederate spy in the Civil War.  She operated from her aunt's hotel in Virginia and provided valuable information to Confederate general Stonewall Jackson in 1862.  Some believe that the "Gone with the Wind" character of Belle Watling is based on Ms. Boyd.
