DESCRIPTION: Pont Neuf was a cityscape painted by Pierre-Auguste Renoir, 1872. The Pont Neuf is the oldest standing bridge across the river Seine in Paris, France. Renoir painted Pont Neuf within a single day, though there had been keen planning prior to set the ground for the painting. The painting was done during the 1870 to 1871 civil strife period in France, right off the Franco-Prussian war.
